Keyboard problems with laptop

I bought a Sony VGN-NW25m Notebook about 10 days ago and it has developed a keyboard problem in that the character that is displayed is not the one I key in - I press 'p' and a * appears. Two questions:- 1) Should I just take the laptop back to PC world and get a new one? 2) Is there a...
