Two questions for y'all!

1. I've just had my site redesigned as to be honest, it used to be really pooey. I have not built any links for the past year and seeing I am starting off again, how many say pr1 relevant sites should i target month on month? I know this is a difficult question to answer because it depends on many variables but what would be a sensible figure? 2. I know this is highly debated but are links that aren't particularly relevant at all beneficial to a link building campaign? For example is there any point in having links to a sports betting site in my signature on this forum?
