10.5.8 = no podcasts to desktop.

I have always preferred to download podcasts of my choice directly to the desktop. Normally I do this by clicking on the tab on the bottom of the window or going to "File," and clicking on "Save." Since I updated to version 10.5.8. neither of the two methods above work. I need help!
