how to get some PR

i have trouble with the google pr. i started a web page 2 months ago and still it is pr 0 . i submitted it to many directories and the site has a lot of information and 50 pages on it . how can i lift the pr a little bit? i don't like the idea of cross-linking with other pages as i don't want to...
