Using .Info Domains

There was a scare (in 2007?) That google had dropped .info domains as many people experienced them vanish. However they came back and the problem seemed to go away. I"m looking for solid opinions not guesses... is there any different in ranking between .INFO and .COM - or Is it not based on your...
