All About BULK MAILING

Heya, I am trying to set up a bulk mailing campaign with Vallen Emailer and a newly created gmail account right now. Vallen Emailer is crashing though. What does the community think about using gmail's smtp for bulk mailing? Do you guys have bulk mailers you prefer over Vallen E-Mailer?
