301 Redirect-I can't see which direction is best?

After a ton of reading I can't decide to redirect www to canonical or visa-versa? Seems people have arguments. The page rank reads the same for http://www.joyvisioncare.com & http://joyvisioncare.com -- is there some tool I can research to see other attributes towards SERP I might discover out...
