System overload?

Hi Friends, My computer can't handle excess stuff like video games and other parts because the system has trouble to react to this. Should it be best to upgrade it's features? Portable DVD Player (http://www.bipra.com/cat-686-portabledvdplayers.aspx) || Graphic Cards...
