Installing PC drivers on Laptop?

I recently acquired several used gateway laptops 600YGR- crashed & full of viruses, I ended up reinstalling windows XP pro on them, my question is: I have driver/applications disks (gateway) for my desktops, but none for the laptops - Can I install these desktop drivers on them, or are there...
