When will I know if my site has been indexed by Google?

I submitted about 3 weeks back and have built up some solid backlinks from similar sites ranging from 4/10 to 5/10 Page Ranks and continue building content. Also have added a contest but traffic is not coming since my site is not indexed yet. Got a few daily visits here and there thanks to Adwords...
