Its purpose is to reduce the effectiveness of some types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing the creation in the first place. If other directors give us a backlink with tag "dofollow", so you get a share of their PageRank and links, and Google will continue to improve site rankings.
