Default Virtual Private Server hosting: The Intermediate between Shared & Dedicated Hosting

Virtual Private Servers or VPS is the method of splitting a physical server into several virtual servers. Each partitioned server can run own full-fledged operating system and provides dedicated root access, adequate disk space, RAM, CPU resources, guaranteed bandwidth and so on. Each such server can be rebooted and managed independently. A virtual hosting space can be exclusively used by its user which is similar to using one’s own computer. Every virtual environment is isolated from other virtual servers created on the same physical server. Therefore, each server’s files and hosted websites are unaffected by the performance of other virtual servers. With a virtual server, the user has the freedom to install and run any programs and applications, carry out custom configuration and even host as many domains as needed without affecting other adjacent servers.

Virtual Private Server hosting considerably balances certain downsides of shared hosting and dedicated hosting. While the server and resources are shared among users in shared hosting, dedicated servers turn out to be expensive. Unlike shared server, a VPS server is dedicated solely to its user who has total control of server and prearranged resources and it is highly affordable when compared to dedicated server hosting.

VPS hosting is similar to dedicated server hosting and offers dedicated server experience to the virtual server owner. It offers guaranteed resources, dedicated control, power, privacy and security but at economical rates similar to standard shared hosting.
Virtual Server hosting has thus become immensely popular among website owners where they can host their own site in an exclusive and private server; impervious and independent of other websites and server performance.*
