How to create a site map and make a robots.txt file?

Hi guys, I added my site to google webmasters tools and it says I need to submit a sitemap and my robots.txt file wasn't found. Please could someone run me through how to make and submit a sitemap, also how I make a robots.text file. Many Thanks
