ejecting firewired mac

Please help I have connected my macbook to my macbook pro with a firewire cable using migrating assistant. Now my macbook has the firewire sign on the screen and nothing else. I have copy the files that I needed and ejected the volume from the desktop of my macbook pro by putting in the trash. ...
