Unlocking Icons from The Grid In A Folder - Win 7

Can someone advise me please how to unlock the icons in a folder in Win 7 so they can be moved around instead of being locked to a grid all the time? This was the default option in XP but I can't find out how to do it in Win 7. Your advice would be appreciated. Kind Regards
