Booting of an IBM model 64u

Hi! I don't know exactly how I should change the booting sequence of my machine (IBM Pentium III model 64u). Earlie on, it could just boot from the CD drive directly. I have three of them but then none is responding to booting from the cd drive. Compaq is responding and very well. Please Some...
