Can bots click banner ads?

This may be a silly question. If it is, please be gentle. Can bots click on banner advertisements? My website has a program that tracks banner clicks. It shows that I have had 1500 impressions for a certain banner, but only 26 clicks. This leads me to think that they were actual human users, but...
