You can not change your IP address. If you connected with internet via suitable cable modem, you get 2 types of IP address, one is private and other is public. You change only that public IP address because that is used by modem to connect to the internet and its is assigned by ISP. And other one is the private which is assigned by your modem to each PC on your network. So, this IP address is not visible on the internet.
