Best Proxy Types for Web Scraping and Data Collection

When it comes to large-scale web scraping or structured data collection, the type of proxy you use can make a big difference in both success rate and efficiency.

There are several Proxies types commonly used by developers and data professionals, each with its pros and cons:

Residential Proxies:
These come from real ISP-assigned IPs, making them highly reliable for scraping sites that block datacenter traffic. They’re slower but offer better anonymity and a lower block rate.

Datacenter Proxies:
These are fast and affordable, ideal for scraping non-restricted websites or when you need high concurrency. The downside is they’re easier to detect by anti-bot systems.

ISP (Static Residential) Proxies:
A hybrid option — they combine the speed of datacenter proxies with the trust level of residential IPs. Perfect for stable long sessions and consistent connections.

Mobile Proxies:
These rotate through real mobile carrier IPs, offering the highest trust but also the highest cost. Great for scraping mobile-only data or bypassing strict geo-blocks.

In your experience —
Which proxy type works best for continuous or large-scale scraping projects?
How do you balance between speed, cost, and success rate?

Would love to hear what setups others are using for reliable data collection in 2025.
