Hi once we register domain name through domain vendors they will immediately ICANN add our personal details in the whois database ..So if anyone do whois search for our website name in sites like WhoisXY.com they can get all details about us like website owner name ,address ,contact number ,email id and so on .You can also hide this details from public just by registering your domain with whois guard this service hide some of our personal details from public .You can get private registration from your domain vendors or from other vendors like XnYnZ.com for affordable cost .After registering your domain you can do whois search for your site to check that whether the details are hid or not .
