Scan Disk Files

I had both Mp4 and Jpeg files on a Scan disk. This was mixed with both type of files. Today I went to burn the MP4 to DVD and the disk is ALL JPEG..? How could this happen, I dont think I clicked on anything to do this , is there a way to get the MP4 back?
